He immortalized her likeness, using a cropped film still from the 1953 movie Niagara, creating Marilyn, a powerful, instantly recognizable icon of both Pop Art and his own body of work. In 1962, Andy created a silkscreened diptych entitled Marilyns Lips, in which he isolated and repeated Marilyns lips 168 times over two colored canvases, painted
