The handles are about 3 16" round rod stock. The nose or bent down part of the tong is about 1 3 16" long. These are great for pulling small crucibles or silica dishes out of your kiln or to hold them as you melt with your torch. I am sure there is a hundred other uses for these tongs but they are designed for picking up or holding hot crucibles or other objects.
