I pick these up and shove them in my pocket in the hopes that I can think of something creative to do with them

I started to pick up busted up pieces of plastic when I realized there wasn't much else to find

I had amassed quite a stash and was able to make them the focus of an entire piece laid out on a black paperboard

and over time it's remained one of my favorites

My Life in the Sunshine Size:Large (16 x 16 in) I pick these up andIn Chicago, when winter gives way to spring, the snow fence that lines the lakefront primarily to keep snow banks from drifting onto Lake Shore Drive has taken a real beating, often lying in tatters that only get discovered when the snow melts. It was just a few years ago that I began to collect the busted up pieces, attracted primarily by the different tones of brown, gray, beige and brick red, the colors of the earth. When I decided to compose
