Canadian Thunder Bay Amethyst - Rust Red Gemstone 375 inches long x 1Canadian Thunder Bay Amethyst is also knowns as Red Cap amethyst. This crystal is found only in a very localized area of Thunder Bay in Ontario. This unique crystal is immediately recognized with its covering of hematite which gives it its rich dark grainy red appearance. Brighter light really brings out the rust red color. When seen edge on the underlying traditional purple amethyst is clearly visible. The caps are densely packed and sharply pointed.
