It produces monomorphic pitchers (no distinct uppers) and does not produce climbing stems

Note that Nepenthes rafflesiana can be prone to transplant shock if high humidity is not provided on arrival

The distinction between the 2 populations is difficult to make but seems to be closely tied to the introgession with Nepenthes mirabilis in the Trang site leads plants there to sometimes have a lower pitcher waist and more climbing growth habit
