Ragged Robin (Silene flos-cuculi)

breed on the moorland fringe near our home on the Oa in the south west corner of Islay off the west coast of Scotland

this monoprint has been created using drift seaweed collected on my snorkelling adventures on the Isle of Islay

The Wet Meadow design has been repeated around the shade and digitally printed onto organic calico which contains natural flecks within the fabric

Nothing beats a rocky shoreline adorned with clumps of these striking flowers. This design was sketched in spring 2023, after sketching the design is transferred onto lino and carved with a fine tool. Each piece is individually handprinted and is therefore subtly unique. Printed area measures approx 12cm square and paper size is approx 21cm square. We use vegetable oil based inks
