Near mint condition with just the faintest mounting marks on the foot indicating that the reel has ever been on a rod - the frame and spool are flawless

I believe this model is from the late 1940s or early 1950s

This rod also comes with one of Sam's business cards wrapped around the tube as well as a letter of authentication from Dana Gray -- Sam's protege who still makes rods under the Carlson name -- who has estimated the manufacture date of this rod to be 1970
