As winter approaches the days begin to cool and the first signs of the rut begin to emerge

Fast forward 12 years and I found myself working on the Gunflint Trail along the MN Boundary Waters

So I guess it was no coincidence when someone suggested I call it

I find myself always taking one more glimpse up into sky at this moment

So I took many different photographs up and down this area

There's something about those cool sunny days with the leaves during peak color. I imagine these two handsome bucks up late in the morning on their way back to bed. Perhaps this is one of their backdoor entrances to a favorite spot where they'll lay down for the day. This might be close to the last day they'll be seen together as the rut
