The tree trunks on the original Moonlight Serenade are made out of sheet music cut into tapered shapes and decoupaged onto the painted background

However, the mountain itself is a 10 step process that is entirely hand crafted. Because of this, the mountain has lots of depth and texture from plaster, a warm metallic glow from silver leaf and multiple layers of antiquing stain.
