Both are oxidized and the ring is stamped with the serial number

The reel seat is mortised cork with an aluminum ring and pocket cap

Leonard 40H fly rod 8' 2/2 #7 7'10" We're delighted to offer thisA nice Leonard 40H 7 fly rod, 8', 2 piece, 2 tip, built for a #7 line. Serial #1943. 4 3 8 oz with a medium fast action. Although the grip is discolored, the rest of the rod is in exceptional condition, just a tiny amount of brassing to the ferrules. The varnish is in good condition and typical of the period. Wrapped in 326 red with bands of purple and red at the keeper and male ferrules. Keeper 1 flat right. The serial # is lettered 1 flat left on
