Fan belonged to German mezzo soprano contralto Therese Rothauser (1865 1943), a famous interpreter of Mozart and a leading performer in Leipzig and Berlin. Rothauser, who was Jewish, tragically perished in 1943 during the holocaust while being captive in Theresiendstadt concentration camp.
