This Egyptian antique is attested to as authentic and to have been made in Egypt during the “Grand Tour/Egyptian Revival” Era (1780s-1920s) by Mr Matthew Wicks of Ancient Hands

" This piece was purchased in the 1980s and in good overall condition

The intricate carved geometric designs indicate that this pole was a "prestige piece" intended to embellish the tent

It is a personal favorite and will be very difficult to let go

The piece is signed "Moreau" on the base as an homage to the renowned 19th-century French sculptors

The bowl is flawless aside from a small dent in the brass backing on one side (as shown in the photos). The Bon March was a legendary Seattle based department store. It was common for "The Bon" to commission or import high quality, private label housewares and decorative items from Japanese and European manufacturers
