1827 Hand Colored Engraving "A Splitting Headache" by M. Egerton / M.E. Esq. Cimabue with Amethyst stones set inThis is a wonderful Georgian era, 1820's Cartoon of a Gentleman with a "Splitting Headache". Below the title is written: "Oh my poor head!_ How it_ does_ throb!!" It is a hand colored engraving on paper in a period frame with spline construction, and early cut nails. The hook on the back might have originally been on the top, as was the style in that tine. Across the bottom of the illustration is written: Drawn by M. E. Esq. Published April 1827 by T.
