Skill Gate Characters: Roland is the recommended character to start out the game for beginners and to play a Solo-Character Run: he has easy to understand abilities, decently rounded stats, has a ton of Health, can both fight and investigate (although he is obviously better at the former from the getgo), starts with a really nice gun as his signature card and his Loot-Making Attack granting him clues without Investigating can speed up the game dramatically, as it let him use time spent fighting against enemies to also make progress passively
