Hyalopterous Lemure Its hard to gauge the actual size of this spirit based on the art, as theres not a lot there to provide scale
New world order In one of his articles, Mark Rosewater introduced us to the New World Order in their design process: They would make sure that the common cards as they are the cards that new players will have the most contact with will never be overly complex: They should be easy to understand and easy to play with, so as these players become more interested and start buying more packs, they will gradually start having contact with rarer, and more complex cards, making the learning curve less steep
An easy indication is the price difference between a booster of either set
And that's not even talking about the fact that modern sets have crept up in price over the years, partly due to the increased demand and partly because of recent tariffs, but mostly because of product scalpers
If all this talk of rare cards has made you anxious, check out our guide to MTG Arena codes, where you can unlock some free booster packs (and hopefully some wildcards)
